In these verses, Paul lists the works of the flesh, which include various forms of immoral behavior such as adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and others like these. He warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul contrasts these with the fruit of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. He emphasizes that against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Paul concludes by urging believers to live in the Spirit and not become conceited, provoking or envying one another.
